We are an organization for LGBTQIA+ people, supporters, and allies living in and around the Upstate of South Carolina. We provide resources, meetings for peer support, resourceful information, + activities & more for families and individuals who need it.

Provide overall governance and strategic direction to the organization, ensuring it operates in accordance with its mission, vision, and values.
Understand, promote, and advocate for the nonprofit's mission, vision, and goals.
Participate in the development and implementation of the organization's strategic plan, ensuring alignment with its mission and long-term objectives.
Contribute to fundraising efforts, participate in donor cultivation, and support the organization's resource development initiatives.
Attend and actively participate in board meetings, committee meetings, and other relevant events. Stay informed about the organization's activities, programs, and financial status.
Review and approve policies, procedures, and bylaws to ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Act in the best interests of the organization, comply with legal and regulatory requirements, and uphold high ethical standards.
Identify and manage risks that may affect the organization's operations, reputation, or financial stability.
Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner, serve as an ambassador, and foster relationships with stakeholders, community partners, and the public.
Regularly assess the organization's performance, programs, and impact to ensure alignment with goals and objectives. Hold the executive leadership accountable for achieving desired outcomes.
Participate in board recruitment, orientation, and development activities. Contribute to building a diverse and effective board that reflects the organization's mission and values.
Provide guidance, support, and feedback to the executive leadership, while respecting the boundaries between governance and management roles.
Prisma Health offers training and certification for Mental Health First Aid by the National Council for Behavior Health which our board members will be required to complete at no cost.
We promote our space as a “Stigma Free Zone” and we dedicate it in honor of Sean William Kennedy.
