BLOOM Therapeutic Support
864 Pride recently announced its initiative to offer FREE therapeutic support with licensed counselors at the Queer Wellness Center in Greenville, SC. It’s BLOOM program is described as no-cost, Group Therapy for LGBTQ+ Individuals and Families by licensed therapists.
BLOOM is made up of two components: training individuals and corporations to be affirming and culturally competent working and understanding the LGBTQ+ community.

Ages 11-14
These groups focus on the experience of adolescents who identify as LGBTQ+ to guide, validate, and support with the clinical focus.
Tuesdays 6:00-7:15 PM -
Ages 15-17
These groups focus on the experience of teens who identify as LGBTQ+ to guide, validate, and support with the clinical focus.
Wednesdays 6:00-7:15 PM -
Parenting / Caregiver
We follow a systems approach and believe parents and caregivers need support and guidance just as much. This therapy group offers space to process experiences and educate parents/caregivers.
Thursdays 6:00-7:15 PM


Program Information
Psychotherapy is a general term for treating mental health problems by talking with a psychiatrist, psychologist, or other mental health provider. During psychotherapy, you learn about your condition and your moods, feelings, thoughts and behaviors.
Psychotherapy helps you learn how to take control of life and respond to challenging situations with healthy coping skills.
Clinically, BLOOM strives to provide free psychotherapy groups, individual and family mental health services in Spartanburg, Greenville, and Anderson County.
BLOOM is graciously funded by ScanSource, a company in Greenville, South Carolina. Through their philanthropic efforts, 864 PRIDE is able to provide this at no cost. While it is open to the public, they do require sign up and paperwork to be completed for confidentiality reasons.

L.E.A.P. - Trans Peer Support
864 PRIDE also offers a Trans Peer Support Group led by a certified peer support specialist. This program titled, Lead Empower Advocate Protect (L.E.A.P.) is a grant funded program that brings peer support to the trans community at zero cost for participants.
What is CPSS?
A certified peer support specialist (CPSS) is one who has lived experience, understanding and mutual empowerment to help people become engaged and stay engaged in their transition journey, as they define it.
A CPSS through LEAP is someone who identifies as gender expansive and participates in several activities to support. We know that when a trans person has even one positive support in their life. It increases their chance of not only success, but survival.
What Does CPSS Do?
- Advocating for competent treatment by providers
- Sharing resources and building skills
- Building community and relationships
- Mentoring and goal setting
- Working co-currently with clinical team
- Accompanying to appointments
- Being part of a treatment team
- Sharing lived experiences in appropriate and safe ways
